Gloria is a passionate and dedicated educator with 27 years of experience in working with young learners. Her longstanding career in education includes working at one of the largest school districts: Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). During her tenure at LAUSD, she taught students letters, colors, number sense and geometry, arts. She also helped them develop fine and gross motor skills.

In 2007, she founded the Spanish Immersion Program at Children’s Place. She teaches young children how to read, write, and speak Spanish through music, storytelling, art projects, and interactive learning games. She also enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for music with her students. They create their own musical instruments as well as listened to various music genres to develop an understanding and appreciation for music. Through the Spanish Immersion Program, her students are able to engage in conversational Spanish when traveling abroad in Spanish speaking countries.

At College Advising Prep (CAP), she is excited to help young students build an extensive vocabulary, so they’ll have the ability as well as confidence to converse with native Spanish speakers. Her belief is that students enjoy learning and retain more information when they are having fun.

Gloria truly cares about developing genuine relationships with her students and providing individualized support; therefore, she prefers to teach in one-on-one or small group settings. When she is not busy working with students, she can be found enjoying quality family time with her family.
